Management + Educational Biography

Besides my performing experience, I have management and technical experience indirecting, choreographing, set design, and scenic painting. As I grew up in a rural community, the limited artistic resources available sparked my passion for musical theatre education. Consequently, I believe full immersion into all aspects of theatre are necessary to fully understand how it all works together. After graduating high school, I became a dance instructor for my hometown chamber choir and was a backstage crew member for the spring musical. Throughout my undergraduate degree, I would take my college musical theatre classes during the day and then teach everything I

had learned to my students at their evening musical rehearsals. I eventually moved into co-directing, choreographing, set designing, and

scenic painting. Some production credits include Newsies, Singin' in the Rain, The Addams Family, School of Rock, and more. I have scenic painting and prop preparation experience through summer stock theatre at Peach State Summer Theatre. Production credits include Hello, Dolly!, Newsies, MillionDollar Quartet, Little Women, Mamma Mia, and Crazy For You.

During pandemic times, I co-founded and became the artistic director of CCMTI (Colquitt County Musical Theatre Intensive). The mission was to introduce young artists of South Georgia to the world of professional theatre. Students engaged in various workshops that involved singing, dancing, and acting. Students worked one-on-one with professionals and guest artists. They also had the opportunity to

audition and perform in a musical of the current season. Show credits include Godspell, The Fantasticks, and Pippin. After the

COVID-19 pandemic affected my senior year in 2020, I briefly became a long-term substitute specializing in K-5 music and high school drama. K-5 lesson plan examples include cinema orchestrations that focused on Disney and Star Wars films. We discussed the importance of orchestration in films and how it sets the tone for the the entire story. High school drama lesson plan examples include the importance of warming up as a performer and as a cast. Students were taught exercises such as stretching, tongue twisters, improv, and partner work to prepare for performances. I continue to open myself up to opportunities in theatre education, teaching workshops, and theatre tech positions. To be involved in every side of entertainment is to have a full understanding of the bigger picture. Whether it is performing, technical, or management, it is crucial to teach students the importance of each puzzle piece that creates the magic of theatre
